Extent-compatible control barrier functions

چکیده
Safety requirements in dynamical systems are commonly enforced with set invariance constraints over a safe region of the state space. Control barrier functions, which Lyapunov-like functions for guaranteeing invariance, an effective tool to enforce such and guarantee safety when system is represented as point In this paper, we introduce extent-compatible control explicitly accounting its volume (extent) within ambient workspace. order implement framework, first propose sum-of-squares optimization program that solved pointwise time ensure safety. Since programs can be computationally prohibitive, next approach instead considers finite number points sampled on extent boundary. The result quadratic guaranteed retains computational advantage traditional functions. While alternative generally more conservative than approach, show conservatism reduced by increasing points. Simulation robotic implementation results provided.

Local Self-concordance of Barrier Functions Based on Kernel-functions
Many efficient interior-point methods (IPMs) are based on the use of a self-concordant barrier function for the domain of the problem that has to be solved. Recently, a wide class of new barrier functions has been introduced in which the functions are not self-concordant, but despite this fact give rise to efficient IPMs. Here, we introduce the notion of locally self-concordant barrier functio...
متن کاملRobustness of Control Barrier Functions for Safety Critical Control
Barrier functions (also called certificates) have been an important tool for the verification of hybrid systems, and have also played important roles in optimization and multiobjective control. The extension of a barrier function to a controlled system results in a control barrier function. This can be thought of as being analogous to how Sontag extended Lyapunov functions to control Lypaunov f...

In the previous lectures, we explored the problem of finding spectral sparsifiers and saw both deterministic and randomized algorithms that given a graph G with n vertices finds a spectral sparsifier with O ( n logn 2 ) edges. In this lecture, we improve upon this result to find linear-sized spectral sparsifiers, or more concretely, spectral sparsifiers with O ( n 2 ) edges. This is an interest...
متن کاملDual Blood-Brain Barrier Functions of Global Ischemic Rats Barrier and Carrier Functions
Background and Purpose: We studied the influence of reperfusion on carrier and barrier functions of the blood-brain barrier after transient global ischemia in rats. Methods: We used iodine-125-labeled 3-iodo-a-methyl-L-tyrosine and carbon-14-labeled sucrose as tracers for studying carrier and barrier functions of the blood-brain barrier, respectively. Brain uptakes of these two tracers were mea...
متن کاملConflicting Multi-Objective Compatible Optimization Control
It is clear that there exist many practical control problems in which the consideration of multiple objectives is typically required, and these objectives may conflict with each other. For example, in many practical control systems, control error often conflicts with energy consumption. In the past ten years, we have been studying the greenhouse environment control problem and have gained a con...
